Betty White Challenge

Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward is participating in this year’s Betty White Challenge on January 17, 2023.

Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward saw close to $24,000 in donations last’s Betty White Challenge. “We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support in Betty’s honour,” said Marilyn Lawrie, HSHOE executive director.

Ms. White, a comic icon, was outspoken in her commitment to supporting endangered species and other animals in need. She passed away last year on New Year’s Eve.

Shortly after, on what would have been her 100^th birthday on January 17, the #BettyWhiteChallenge went viral, with millions worldwide honouring her legacy by donating to organizations supporting animals.

The Challenge has now become an annual event.
