WIGGLE WAGGLE RAISES OVER $35,000

Belleville – The HSHPE Volunteer Fundraising Committee is delighted to announce that its 10th Anniversary Wiggle Waggle Walkathon and Pet Festival has raised over $35,000 for the care and wellbeing of their animals in need.

Despite less than favourable weather, over 100 walkers and their furry companions participated in the festivities at Centennial Park in Quinte West. “We are delighted with the level of participation, the number of vendors and sponsors who truly made this special event a great success for our Humane Society.” commented Tracey Bunnett, the Volunteer Chair of the HSHPE Fundraising Committee. “Overall, it was a fun day raising much needed funds. It was so nice to see so many dogs walking side by side, vendors selling their wares and patrons having an outing with their pooch.”

The Humane Society relies on fundraising events such as Wiggle Waggle to generate the necessary funds to care for the animals and to find them loving homes.

The Committee would like to thank our corporate sponsors; Nutrience, Pet Valu (Belleville, Trenton and Brighton), Little Stinkers, Belleville Nissan and Starboard Cares. We would also like to extend our thanks to The City of Quinte West, the Rotary Clubs of Belleville and Trenton, DJ Leo and Team Absolute K9 Performance Show.

Along with tremendous gratitude to all the participants, the Committee congratulates the teams and individuals who raised the most funds. The teams’ first place winner was Quinte Canine, 2nd Emma’s Entourage and 3rd the Rotary Club of Trenton. The individual 1st place winner was Danielle Locke, 2nd Yvonne Ferguson and 3rd Janet Wooley.

The Humane Society extends its gratitude to Tracey Bunnett and all the volunteer committee members, participants and sponsors for making the 2025 Wiggle Waggle a grand success and looks forward to the 11th Wiggle Waggle in 2026.
